Our client, VIC Tyre Recycling, is a proudly 100% Australian owned company based in Braeside, Victoria. They are Environmental Protection Agency registered for waste tyre storage and resource recovery, offering compliant, eco friendly tyre recycling across Victoria. Their mission is to transform end of life tyres into valuable materials while championing sustainability, circular economy principles, and environmental responsibility.
They are seeking a skilled Engineering Manager to spearhead operations at their advanced recycling and processing facility. The successful candidate will play a key role in optimising production, managing technical projects, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving sustainable innovation.
The annual salary for this position is $140,000 to $150,000 plus superannuation.
Tasks include:
• Developing, executing, and monitoring engineering strategies, policies, and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and sustainability in tyre recycling and material processing.
• Reviewing technical drawings, equipment plans, and recycling process designs, while advising on engineering methods to ensure production targets and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) standards are met.
• Setting and managing project timelines and budgets for facility upgrades, equipment installation, and process improvement initiatives.
• Ensuring all operations comply with engineering specifications, environmental regulations, EPA licensing requirements, and workplace health and safety standards.
• Upholding high engineering standards related to quality, cost control, safety, performance, and on-time delivery across all recycling processes.
• Overseeing equipment maintenance schedules to maximise uptime and improve plant efficiency.
• Collaborating with business development, research, and operational teams on engineering considerations for new recycling technologies, product development, and facility expansion.
• Supporting and contributing to research and development projects.
• Assess and implement new equipment or process enhancements that align with circular economy principles and help minimise environmental footprint.
• Lead investigations into technical faults or inefficiencies, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions to maintain production flow and regulatory compliance.
• Manage communication and collaboration with contractors, suppliers, and regulatory authorities to ensure smooth project delivery and seamless plant operations.
• Promote a proactive culture of innovation and ongoing improvement within the engineering and maintenance teams, driving operational excellence and sustainability.
Qualifications:
• Must possess at least three (3) years of relevant experience.
• Should hold a Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification.
