What you’ll be doing (Key accountabilities) Provision of advice and support to managers, as well as provision of technical support to ensure as far as practicable, Melba’s compliance with relevant OHS and Emergency management legislation, compliance codes standards and best practice. Manage the HSW inbox, responding and resolving queries in a professional and timely manner with relevant stakeholders. Develop, maintain and review HSW related intranet, share point sites and information to ensure effective communication across Melba with the input of the HSW team, L&D and Communications. Conducting or assisting with hazard inspections, OHS audits and risk assessments as required. Manage the Chemwatch Safety Data Sheet (SDS) management system and ensure that staff are familiar with the system through training, education and information. Act as a systems administrator for the Workers Compensation Databases and Portals working with the Injury Management team to ensure accurate and up-to-date employee records maintaining strict confidentiality HSW information and supporting HSW workers compensation audits and reporting as required. Manage the Emergency management portal covering emergency management information. Provide facilitation and management support for the Emergency Planning Committees. Act as the HSW systems administrator for the Incident Reporting database. Provide reports, advice, support and training and recommendations on improvements as required. Coordinating, reviewing and training regarding the Melba Emergency procedures and related documentation ensuring compliance with the relevant standards. Coach and guide incident management teams, ensuring a timely and effective response to emergencies. Support and participate in investigations and debriefs related to emergency situations. Coordinating and providing input into the Business Continuity Planning requirements across Melba to ensure an effective response. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to establish effective communication channels and enhance co-ordination efforts around emergency management and business continuity Collate, advise, prepare and review reports on HSW related data and metrics under the direction of the HSW Manager. Act as the primary liaison for the HSW policies and procedures on the Melba Operating System. Contribute to the development, document and review of HSW policies and procedures within an ISO 45001 framework and in compliance with required legislative requirements. working in collaboration with other stakeholders as appropriate. Support leaders in the use of HSW related Systems and understanding of Melba policies and procedures. Support HSW Partners and Injury Managers on the development and delivery of HSW related training. Keep abreast with the latest changes in HSW related legislative and practice and provide input to incorporate into HSW practice and information. Provide cover and workload support for HSW Partners and Injury managers as required, including supporting return to work, emergency management and incident investigation. Contribute to a range of HSW initiatives and projects as required to achieve the People Strategy. Other duties consistent with the position where required and/or requested by the HSW Manager. Your Background (Skills and attributes) Project management and administrative experience, with 1 – 3 years’ experience in Emergency Management requirements and/or Emergency Management related qualification Strong planning, time management and organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities. Proven track record in building and maintain effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders. A proactive, professional and customer-focused approach with the ability to self-motivate and take initiative. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, to ensure clear and concise information is developed and presented. Problem solving skills to successfully identify problems, develop solutions and implement these using a logical and systematic approach. Ability to maintain a high attention to detail. Ability to respond positively and adapt to a rapidly changing environment. Ability to work under limited direction and as part of a broader team. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and systems relevant to the role. Experience within Aged Care or Disability Sector is an advantage. Requirements A current NDIS Worker Screening and Working with Children Check. The ability and relevant driver’s license to perform travel to Melba Office locations. Current First Aid and CPR Certificate. Compliance with OHS&W regulations, legislation, and Policies and Procedures is required. Successful completion of pre-employment safety screening checks, mandatory training, and their subsequent renewals is necessary.
