We are seeking a skilled Embroidery Machine Operator to join our team, responsible for operating and maintaining industrial embroidery machines to produce high-quality designs on garments and textile products. The ideal candidate will have experience with commercial embroidery equipment, strong attention to detail, and the ability to interpret design files and production specifications. This role plays a key part in ensuring timely and accurate output of custom embroidery work for uniforms, apparel, and promotional products.
Operate multi-head and single-head embroidery machines.
Read and interpret embroidery digitised files and work orders to determine thread colours, design placement, and fabric type.
Hoop garments and prepare materials for embroidery.
Thread machines, change bobbins, and monitor stitching to ensure design accuracy and quality.
Perform regular machine maintenance and troubleshooting (e.g., thread breaks, tension adjustments).
Conduct quality checks and trim excess threads or backing material from finished items.
Maintain accurate production records and report issues or delays.
Collaborate with the design team and production manager to meet deadlines and quality standards.
Insert bobbins and position parts to be sewn.
Start, stop, and control the speed of machines using industrial CPUs; guide parts under needles following edges, seams, and markings.
Change needles and adjust or modify machine attachments as required.
Finish items by cutting excess material and threads.
Operate thread trimming and other non-sewing machines.
Inspect stitching for defects and notify repair mechanics of malfunctions.
Perform basic maintenance, such as machine lubrication.
Lay up and bundle garments or components.
Label and finish completed work.'
Salary: AUD 80,000 – AUD 85,000 per annum (plus superannuation)
