Your New Role and Responsibilities Are you looking for a career that’s far from ordinary? Our Airborne Surveillance Observers have the opportunity to fly to particularly unique locations across Australia and the Pacific – all while working with cutting-edge technology in a high performing team environment. This is the perfect role for those seeking a new challenge and offers the opportunity to work in an aircraft without needing an aviation background. As an Airborne Surveillance Observer (EO), you’ll work onboard a highly modified regional turboprop airliner equipped with advanced surveillance and mission systems. Reporting to the Electronic Mission Coordinator whilst airborne and working closely with a skilled team, you’ll conduct civil maritime surveillance operations, ensuring that critical data and intelligence is accurately captured and securely distributed to clients and stakeholders. We have upcoming opportunities in Darwin and Broome. Full training to operate the systems to carry out civil maritime surveillance missions is provided. These roles operate in predominantly airborne aviation environments with various weather conditions and involve flying and/or deployments across various locations in Australia and the Pacific. No extended leave out of the norm is available during this time. The Electronic Observer position is covered under Surveillance AU Pilot & Observer Enterprise Agreement 2024-2028 What You’ll Bring to Make An Impact Senior First Aid Certificate or equivalent. Intermediate level of experience with computer and IT systems. Able to commit to 16 weeks of training based in Darwin or Broome Acceptable level of health and fitness in accordance with the pre-employment medical and Civil Aviation Safety Authority medical standards. Commitment to working in a safe manner. Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, as part of a team, build and maintain relationships and have a high level of personal and professional integrity and confidentiality.
