These are permanent full-time positions based at key sites across South Australia including Edinburgh, Keswick and Woomera. About the role You will ensure the effective operation, maintenance and repair of all electrical systems within Defence buildings, structures, and infrastructure. This role supports the operational readiness and functionality of Defence facilities by maintaining high standards of electrical safety and compliance. Your key responsibilities will include: Performing routine maintenance and repairs on electrical systems and equipment across all Defence facilities. Diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical issues promptly and efficiently. Installing, testing, and commissioning new electrical systems and components as required. Ensuring all electrical work complies with relevant safety standards and regulations. Maintaining accurate records of maintenance and repair work, including documenting any changes made to systems. Collaborating with other maintenance staff and departments to coordinate work activities and ensure minimal disruption to operations. Assisting in the development and implementation of preventive maintenance programs. Responding to emergency call-outs and perform repairs in a timely manner. Participating in training and development programs to stay updated with industry standards and technologies. Supporting the EU Supervisor by providing technical expertise and guidance as needed. Identifying areas for process improvement and work collaboratively with teams to implement best practices. About you Our ideal candidate will have: Ideally 3 years of experience in electrical maintenance and repair, preferably within Defence or similar environment. Strong knowledge of electrical systems, components, and repair techniques. Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and technical manuals. Understanding of and commitment to workplace safety standards and practices. Certificate III in Electrotechnology, Electrician or equivalent qualification. Valid electrical licence. You must be an Australian Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance.
