  • We are seeking an Electrician to assist with overseeing the daily operations and maintenance of our projects, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and compliance. Based on-site, the role involves working with other electricians, trades assistance and/or apprentices and electrical based subcontractors, to perform maintenance activities. Strong technical expertise in solar energy systems is essential for success in this role. Key Responsibilities: Maintenance Management Review OEM and existing project documentation to ensure scheduled activities are in-line with requirements. Assist with establishing check sheets and inspection documentation for equipment to be used during the O&M phase. Assist with establishing specific plans, manuals and procedures. Perform review of schedules, plans and check sheets with the aim to optimise activities and processes. Monitor SCADA for faults, alarms and events. Review performance analysis data to optimise and maximise generation and minimise any downtime. Assist with compiling work activity reports and other data/records used for reporting. Assist in organising electrical work and general work activities for personnel on site. Medium Voltage (MV)/ High Voltage (HV) Operations Write, review or participate in HV switching activities as required to the extent allowable by training and competency. Assist with coordinating and performing maintenance on MV and HV assets. Asset Operations (PV / Wind) Respond to alarms and perform fault finding, diagnosis and repair of equipment when required. Undertake inspections of facility equipment in accordance with any preventative maintenance schedules. Perform electrical based inspections and tests as required for preventative or corrective maintenance. Undertaking work as outlined in preventative maintenance schedules in accordance with management plans, manuals and legislative requirements. Perform regular stock management and audit of spares to ensure required spares are available and correctly stored. Any other general duty required to meet Wandoan Solar 1 O&M performance or HSSE KPIs to the extent training and competency permits. Respond to incident, outages and emergencies to the extent training and competency permits. Undertake general duties including cleaning, housekeeping and inventory control as required. Assist with procurement, maintenance/calibration of tools and equipment. Risk Assessment and Management Assist with the implementation of Vena Energy’s Integrated Management System (IMS), across the site. Support with the development and review of HSSE documentation including Risk Registers, SWMS, procedures, permits, audit findings etc. Participate HSSE workshops and other HSSE activities including inspections, audits & investigations. Prerequisites: Completion of Year 12 schooling. Electrical Licence (A Grade / Unrestricted). Valid Class C Manual Driver’s Licence. Minimum 1 year of experience working on an operational solar asset, or in an industrial/mining environment with fault-finding responsibilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel. Familiarity with electrical test equipment. Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, including manuals, drawings, and procedures. Strong teamwork and collaboration skills. Safety-conscious mindset.
