About the Role
Nexus Division’s Infrastructure Division is expanding its electrical sector capability to support major infrastructure and communications projects across New South Wales. We are seeking qualified electricians and cabling specialists to deliver installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical and communication cabling systems in high-compliance environments.
Successful candidates will be part of a dedicated electrical support team working on large-scale projects, ensuring safe and effective delivery of cabling and electrical works to industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
? Install and terminate structured cabling (Cat5E, multi-core, ELV communication copper cables).
? Carry out fibre cabling works including splicing, termination, and testing using OTDR, light source, and power meters.
? Install and maintain LV power cables for racks, devices, and associated systems.
? Perform testing, fault finding, and troubleshooting using multi-meters, Ethernet testers, and fibre testing tools.
? Read and interpret electrical and communication drawings for accurate installation and maintenance.
? Follow operational protocols to ensure no impact on live networks and systems.
? Support project leaders and comply with site safety, induction, and HSEQ protocols.
Key Requirements
Licenses & Certifications (Mandatory):
Current Electrical License (NSW).
RIW (Rail Industry Worker) Card.
Working at Heights certification.
Beneficial: Communications Cabling Registration.
Skills & Experience:
Proven experience in structured cabling, fibre optic cabling, and LV installations.
Hands-on use of OTDR, multi-meters, and Ethernet testing tools.
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
Ability to read and interpret complex electrical and communications schematics.
Awareness of operational protocols in safety-critical environments.
Desirable Skills
? Prior experience in large-scale infrastructure or industrial projects.
? Strong awareness of HSEQ compliance and operational safety.
? Ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams under project deadlines.
