As a result of continual national growth, Lai Switchboards Queensland are seeking Electrical Engineering Technicians to join their team, who are excited about the opportunity to build a stable, rewarding, and lucrative career with us.

Schedule:

Full Time position: Monday – Friday & with overtime.

Wages / Salary

Waged position - earn between $75,000.00pa to $80,000.00pa exclusive of superannuation.

The Position

We are currently seeking Electrical Engineering Technicians. The ideal candidates must have the ability to work as part of a team. They must be self-motivated with excellent attention to detail, enthusiastic, reliable and punctual.

Key Competencies and Skills:

Understanding of power/control circuits and being able to follow wiring diagrams/schematics
Work to tight deadlines whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy and quality
Positive "can do" attitude & reliable with excellent work ethic
A commitment to safe work practices
Possess a good attitude and be confident in problem-solving
Highly motivated

Desirable Competencies:

Experience mounting electrical equipment, mechanical support/protection
Trade qualification “A Class licence”
Experience in the electrical switchboard industry.
Experience wiring main switchboards, motor control centres, PLC / RIO panels and distribution boards
Experience with busbar fabrication
Preparing drawings, plans and diagrams of electrical installations and circuits
Assisting Electrical Engineers and Engineering Technologists in the design and layout of electrical installations and circuits on substations, switchgear, cabling systems and motor control systems.
Collecting data, performing tests and complex calculations, graphing results, and preparing charts and tabulations.
estimating materials costs and quantities.
Inspecting designs and finished products for compliance with specifications and regulations.
Assembling, installing, testing, calibrating, modifying and repairing electrical equipment and installations to conform with regulations and safety requirements.
Undertaking electrical workshop functions such as installing assemblies for protection relays, metering and indicating devices.
Previous experience in wiring LV switchboards
