As an Electrical Engineering Technician, you will assist customers with commissioning, maintenance, repair, diagnosis and upgrade/update of electrical instrumentation and electronic control systems. The objective is to minimize customer downtime and increase customer satisfaction of Endress+Hauser instrumentation, electrical equipment and services in an efficient, safe, quality and cost-effective manner.

Role + Responsibilities:
Measure and diagnostic devices to evaluate how electrical instrumentation and equipment are working;
Plan, build or calibrate instrumentation and make corrective measures to fix problems with electrical installations.
Analyze and assemble electronic devices based on reading schematics, inspect for problems.
Estimate material and costs to replace old equipment and install new equipment,
Analyze and create schematics, test and trouble shoot electrical installations and circuitry and cabling systems.
Ensure compliance with safety requirements by installing, testing, calibrating and repairing electrical equipment and installations;
Perform complex calculations to look at electrical blueprints and scan them for issues, making sure that they work before installed;
Look at electrical grids and evaluate them for any problems to make sure they are being installed correctly;
Work with wires, using hand tools and handling small components requires manual dexterity;
Develop and maintain knowledge of Endress+Hauser products sold and serviced by SC Australia
Demonstrated knowledge of techniques and technologies in the process instrumentation/process control industry.
Assist in increasing service sales to new and existing customer by actively approaching customers whilst at site or when providing telephone support.
Preparation for calibration activity (request type, tools and equipment needed, documentation, SOP’s/Work Instructions, etc.)
Identify and utilize appropriate calibration systems and procedures (SOP’s, Work Instructions)
Identify out-of-tolerance conditions and measurement errors and perform corrective actions to address identified measurement problems
Collect, compile, measure, summarise and record data gathered during calibrations; prepare calibration reports and certificates
Recommend standards and methods to be used in calibration applications
Maintain calibration tools and electrical equipment in good working condition

Skills + Experience:
Knowledge and a high level of competence in all aspects of industrial electrical equipment and instrumentation, with an in-depth knowledge of the extensive range of Endress + Hauser instruments in particular
Technical qualification with minimum 2 years field experience
A good understanding of industrial plant, electronic equipment and machinery and the processes monitored and controlled by process instrumentation is essential
Highly skilled practical hands-on ability is essential as Australia-wide site service and workshop repair work is often required
Excellent interpersonal and telephone skills and the ability to deal effectively with customer complaints, technical queries, and provide general telephonic assistance
Good supervisory skills are required as the position involves supervision of service support work carried out on-site by sales engineers, repair work carried out by the workshop technicians and sub-contractors
Sound knowledge and experience using Microsoft applications, such as Word, Excel and Outlook
Technical qualification in electrical engineering or instrumentation disciplines
Drivers license is essential
