Electrical Engineer – 8-Axis Motion Control / PLC Integration (CNC + Automation) Description: We’re building a new plate-sorting and automation system designed to work alongside an industrial CNC plate laser. The base machine already exists; we now need an experienced Electrical / Controls Engineer to extend the design from 3 to 8 axes and prepare it for integration with our automation and software platform. Scope of Work Review existing 3-axis electrical drawings (supplied). Extend design to include additional sorter axes (target total = 8). Specify and document: Motion controller, servo drives, PLC, relays, 24 V PSU, safety chain Wiring layout, connectors, looms, and cable schedule I/O map, bill of materials, and safety interlocks Develop or review PLC code (Structured Text or Ladder) for: Homing and limit logic E-stop / guard circuits Servo enable, alarm handling Communication with HMI / controller via Ethernet / Modbus-TCP Deliver schematics, code template, FAT checklist, and commissioning notes. Optional: assist remotely during panel build and start-up. Required Skills Electrical design for CNC, motion-control, or robotics systems PLC programming (Siemens, Omron, Delta, Beckhoff, etc.) Servo drive setup & tuning, safety circuits, fieldbus (EtherCAT or similar) Produce clean, documented schematics (EPLAN / AutoCAD Electrical) Comfortable working independently and communicating in English Nice to Have Multi-axis material-handling experience Exposure to CAD/CAM or laser-cutting systems Familiarity with JSON or lightweight API communications Location Preference We’re primarily seeking candidates based in Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, or the Philippines — regions known for strong industrial-automation talent, solid English communication, and convenient travel to Asia-Pacific manufacturing hubs. Applicants from other locations with proven CNC or motion-control experience are also welcome.
