B & J MCLEOD HOLDINGS PTY LTD (T/a MCLEOD CIVIL CONSTRUCTION) are seeking applications for Earthmoving Plant Operator in Panmure VIC.

As an experienced Earthmoving Plant Operator, you will be responsible for undertaking duties associated with the day – to day operations of Operate earthmoving plant and equipment

Duties and responsibilities

- Operate earthmoving plant and equipment such as excavators, loaders, bulldozers, graders, rollers, and dump trucks in a safe and efficient manner.
- Excavate, load, spread, level, and compact earth, rock, and other materials to required specifications.
- Select, fit, and remove attachments including buckets, blades, rippers, and compactors to suit operational requirements.
- Conduct pre-start, operational, and shutdown inspections to ensure plant is safe and serviceable.
- Monitor plant performance using gauges, warning systems, and visual checks, and respond to abnormal operating conditions.
- Perform basic maintenance, cleaning, and lubrication, and report mechanical faults or defects promptly.
- Checking plant condition, carrying out basic maintenance and reporting mechanical issues
- Operate mobile plant machinery in accordance with workplace health and safety (WHS) legislation, site procedures, and Safe Work Method Statements
- Conduct pre-start, operational, and shutdown inspections to identify hazards, defects, and unsafe conditions.
- Ensure plant and attachments are operated within manufacturer specifications and site safety requirements.
- Comply with environmental controls, including dust, noise, and spill prevention measures.

Skills
- Competent operation of earthmoving equipment
- Reading and interpreting gauges, indicators, and warning systems
- Basic plant maintenance and fault identification
- Current driver license
- Experience operating earthmoving equipment, such as, but not limited to compactors, bulldozers, excavators, skid steers and loaders
- At least 2 years' work experience

Salary range is $65,000 - $85,000 PA commensurate with experience
