• Job Description
• As a Duty Technician, you’ll report to the Chief Engineer and play a vital role in keeping the hotel operations smooth, safe, and guest ready at all times. Your technical skills, proactivity, and attention to detail will ensure that all building systems, plant equipment, and guest-facing infrastructure are functioning at their peak.
• Key Responsibilities
• Respond promptly to guest and colleague maintenance requests, delivering solutions with minimal disruption.
• Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance across guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house to keep the hotel operating at its best.
• Troubleshoot and repair a range of systems including HVAC, plumbing, refrigeration, and mechanical equipment within scope.
• Complete regular inspections of plant rooms, safety systems and essential infrastructure, ensuring compliance with WHS standards.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance tasks, equipment checks, and repairs.
• Work collaboratively with contractors and external trades to support specialist works when required.
• Qualifications

What you will bring to the role

• Hands-on experience with hotel, resort or large facility maintenance, with exposure to engineering systems such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration or mechanical equipment.
• Trade qualifications are highly regarded, but not essential - what counts is your proven technical ability and reliability.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with confidence in identifying faults and carrying out quality repairs.
• A safety-first mindset, physically capable of handling the practical demands of the role.
• Flexible to work varied shifts (AM and PM), including weekends and public holidays, and able to communicate effectively with both guests and colleagues.
