Your part in our UnitingCare team UnitingCare's Brisbane Counselling and Case Management Service provides counselling and case management support to women at high risk of domestic and family violence. We are currently seeking a motivated, part-time, DV Counsellor for 38 hours per fortnight to join our team. This is a 6-month maternity leave position. In this role, you will work with women who have been impacted by domestic and family violence and have experienced significant trauma. You will provide support to these women through therapeutic counselling, case management and advocacy. In addition to this, you will be accountable for undertaking complex risk assessments and implementing safety plans to address safety concerns while also building and maintaining high level knowledge of specialist support services that are appropriate to refer women and children to. You will have a strong passion and for working with women and children who have experienced significant trauma, a thorough knowledge of the impacts of domestic and family violence on women and children, and demonstrated skills and extensive experience in delivering specialised counselling, assessment and therapeutic support services to women impacted by domestic and family violence. What makes a difference for us? The successful applicant will have; Minimum of a Bachelor Degree in Social Work, Psychology or Counselling Eligibility for membership to one of the following professional associations (Australian Association of Social Workers, Australian Psychological Society, Australian Counselling Association or PACFA Member Association) Qld Drivers Licence Working with Children Check (Blue Card) Due to the inherent requirements of this programs delivery we require female representation from our Counselling team, as such we are currently looking for a Female Support Worker.
