At Oyster Care, we support individuals with physical disabilities and/or mental health challenges to live independently and achieve their goals. We’re looking for dedicated, compassionate, and proactive Support Workers to join our growing team in Manly!

?? About the Role

As a Disability Support Worker, you will:

? Provide hands-on support with daily living activities, personal care, and community access.

? Assist individuals with mental health needs and behavioral challenges in a respectful and supportive way.

? Encourage independence and help participants achieve personal goals.

? Use de-escalation techniques to support individuals during challenging moments.

? Work closely with family members & the Oyster Care team to provide the best care possible.

?? Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking for caring, reliable, and proactive individuals with:

? Experience in disability support, mental health, or aged care (preferred but not required).

? An empathetic, person-centered approach – treat participants like family ??

? Strong communication & documentation skills (e.g., data recording, forms).

? Familiarity with de-escalation techniques for managing behaviors.

? A background in Support Work, Nursing, or related fields (preferred).

? A willingness to learn & grow in a rewarding career.

?? A reliable, insured vehicle (for participant transport – travel reimbursements available!)

?? Willingness to travel around Dee Why

?? Comfortable providing personal care & community access for both male and female participants

?? Certificate III or IV in a relevant field
