Support Worker (Community Participation)

We are currently seeking experienced, strong support workers for a Community Participation (CP) role based in the Darlinghurst area. We are specifically looking for candidates with backgrounds in Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD), and/or corrections to support a male participant. This role would suit someone looking to supplement their current income, with the capacity to build hours over time.

The Role:
You will be supporting participant/s with community access and engagement who are transitioning back into the community.

You will develop resilience, promote social inclusion, encourage skill-building, and confidence.

In addition, you will be managing behavioural and emotional needs in community settings to improve life skills.
You will be supported by the broader team.

The Successful Applicant
The role is Ideal for someone who is calm, physically capable, and reliable.
You will be able to demonstrate experience supporting individuals with complex mental health needs.
A thorough background in AOD or corrections/justice sector would be highly regarded.
You will have strong de-escalation and behaviour support skills to manage situations as they arise.
You will also have the ability to work independently and follow detailed support plans and complete necessary documentation along the way.
The role will start off at 8 hours per week (2 hours per day, 4 days a week) with potential for additional hours as needs grow.

Minimum Requirements
Certificate III or IV in Mental Health, Community Services, or a related field
NDIS Worker Screening Check
Current First Aid & CPR
Available vaccination history
