Position: Support Worker
Pay: AU$68,400.00 – AU$71,000.00 per year
Contract Type: Casual and Full time
Location: Toowoomba and Brisbane
As a support worker in our Community Services area, you will work closely with people with a disability to help them live the lives they choose in their own homes and local communities. You can build rapport with clients well, understanding their needs, preferences and aspirations, so you can support them to achieve what’s important to them.
What are we looking for in our support workers ?
A passion for people and a genuine interest in listening and responding to the needs of others.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal
The physical capability to carry out a range of manual tasks.
Broad shift availability
The more available you are, the more work we can potentially offer you.
Prepared to work shift work, which includes morning, afternoon and over night (passive/sleep overs shifts are a must)
Able to be on-call and pick up emergency shifts
Duties:
Personal care and hygiene, domestic duties and medication
Moving around the home, sometimes using mobility equipment
Everyday tasks such as meal preparation, shopping or even budgeting
Attending appointments and getting out and about in the local community
Managing and supporting participant support needs
Support workers are also required to complete documentation and case notes as well as progress reports after each shift.
Ability to support people that display challenging behaviours
What other requirements are there ?
Certificate III Individual Support/Aged Care/Disability qualification
Willing to complete ongoing company modules and training program
All support workers must have a current "C" class driver's licence and a roadworthy, registered and insured vehicle and willing to transport clients in their car
Blue Card (or to obtain prior commencement)
NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
National Criminal History (Police) check
You will need to complete a First Aid/CPR Certificate before you start
NDIS Worker Orientation Certificate
You must be eligible to work in Australia
