  • About this opportunity
  • The Digital Printer Manager is responsible for overseeing the digital printing operations, ensuring high-quality output across the division. This role manages the prepress workflow, color management, and print file preparation, while leading a small team of digital print technicians. The role is also responsible for maintaining software and hardware standards, ensuring compliance, and optimizing production efficiency.

Your key responsibilities will be to

  • Manage and maintain prepress software systems (ESKO, Hybrid Software, GMG).
  • Oversee artwork setup including white ink, varnish, and embellishment layers.
  • Ensure accurate job setup including step & repeat, tiling, nesting, and sheet ganging.
  • Maintain colour management standards including Pantone and brand colour accuracy.
  • Operate and calibrate spectrophotometers for colour verification.
  • Ensure compliance with GS1 barcode readability standards.
  • Collaborate with design and production teams to optimise packaging structures (cartons, labels, etc.).
  • Follow WHSE procedures and always maintain a safe work environment.
  • Your skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you’ll have

  • Proficiency in ESKO, Hybrid Software, GMG.
  • Strong understanding of TIFF and PDF file formats.
  • Expertise in colour spaces (RGB, CMYK, ECG).
  • Experience with packaging structures and print production workflows.
  • Knowledge of GS1 barcode standards.
  • Skilled in spectrophotometer usage and colour calibration.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Graphic Arts, Print Technology, or equivalent.
