RDO Group (QVC Group) are currently looking to recruit an experienced and qualified Diesel Fitter-Mechanic to join their team in Rockhampton QLD.

Diesel Fitter-Mechanic is responsible for using tools, machines, equipment and engineering techniques to maintain and repair mechanical plant and equipment to operational standards.

Duties:

- Reviewing drawings, specifications, and blueprints to determine suitable equipment and actions required
- Fitting, assembling, and examining metal parts and subassemblies to produce machines and equipment accurately
- Diagnosing and repairing faults
- Interpreting technical drawings, accurately assembling and fitting mechanical components
- Placing controls on machining tools and textile machines
- Forming metal stock and castings to fine tolerances using machining tools and installing hydraulic and pneumatic systems to ensure the reliable operation of machinery and equipment
- Programming and adjusting machine controls, machining metal parts with precision
- Undertake predictive and preventative fabrication, engineering and servicing
- Undertake fabrication and engineering maintenance and repairs of mobile and fixed plants

Skills and Abilities:

- Certificate III in Engineering Mechanical Trade or equivalent qualification
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in this role or similar
- Ability to work in a team environment

Salary range is $70,000-$85,000pa commensurate with experience
