About
Potential for ongoing relationship Examples of similar succeessful projects required. A feel for the nature of this project is essential as are excellent communication skills. Seeking a curious developer who can add value and ask questions and offer advice. Development Brief – Stage 1: Shakespeare Letters Project Objective To create a proof-of-concept for a Shakespeare-inspired chatbot alternative. Customers will receive 12 letters from Shakespeare (as PDFs via email), written in Shakespearean style, lightly personalised to reflect their answers to an initial signup questionnaire. This will test the viability of a more complex paid chatbot with far greater personalisation and responsiveness Stage 1 Flow: Shakespearean Letter Sequence 1. Sign-up & Onboarding User clicks link from social media and lands on simple sign-up form. Form collects: Name (subscriber’s name) Recipient’s name Occasion (birthday, romance, friendship, etc.) Tone preference (romantic, humorous, solemn, playful, etc.) A few short personal details (e.g., favourite flower, place, or interest) to help opersonalise the letters. Favourite Shakespearean works. Email address User confirms submission. 2. Data Storage Answers stored securely (lightweight DB or form service). Data is linked to subscriber’s email address. 3. Letter Customisation 12 pre-written Shakespearean letters provided by client. Developer sets up placeholders/variables (e.g., recipient, occasion, favourite flower. When generating letters, system automatically substitutes variables with subscriber’s data. 4. PDF Generation Each customised letter is formatted into a stylised PDF: Period fonts (Shakespearean feel). Parchment-style background. Optional decorative header/footer (crest, quill motif). PDF attached to an email. 5. Email Automation System sends 12 emails on a set schedule (e.g., 1 per week). Each email contains: A short note (“Dearest name, another letter from the Bard awaits thee…”) The attached personalised PDF. 800 to 1200 words in length. 6. Feedback Capture At the end of each email, include a simple feedback mechanism: Eg: scores out of 10 or one-click rating buttons . OR a link to a 1-question survey (“Did this letter delight you?”). An empty text box or two. Feedback stored + accessible for review. 7. Completion After 12 letters, subscriber receives a closing thank-you note from “Shakespeare,” with a light nudge for future paid offerings. Key Point for Developers: At this stage, there is: No payment system No ongoing two-way conversation No complex website — just a landing page, form, automation, and email delivery. Content Client will create the 12 base Shakespearean letters, drawing on Shakespeare’s works, themes, and biographical details. Developer will ensure letters are customised based on questionnaire responses (e.g., inserting name, themes of interest). Letters must be styled/designed to look authentically Shakespearean (fonts, layout, parchment-like PDF). Technology & Development Tasks Questionnaire form (embedded in social media marketing or project's website). Database or simple system to store answers. Automated email sequence with PDF attachments. Personalisation engine (moderate text substitution based on questionnaire). Basic feedback mechanism after each email. At this stage, there is: No payment system No ongoing two-way conversation No complex website — just a landing page, form, automation, and email delivery.
