Lendlease is looking for an experienced Design Manager to lead the design coordination and delivery of major building projects in Melbourne. You will act as one of the client’s primary point of contact for design-related matters, managing consultant teams and collaborating closely with cost planning and construction teams to ensure technical compliance and delivery excellence. Key responsibilities include: Managing consultant deliverables and design documentation Chairing design coordination meetings Overseeing document control and compliance reviews Tracking design programs and managing design change processes Collaborating with internal stakeholders including bid, cost planning, and construction teams About You Delivery-focused background, ideally from a head contractor environment Experience managing design on live construction projects, particularly those valued at $100M+ Minimum 5+ years of experience in the construction industry Experience working as a Design Manager within a construction company preferred Strong background in design management including design coordination and delivery Proven ability to manage complex design processes, including scope and cost control Experience conducting design documentation reviews and managing consultant teams Skilled in tracking design programs and handling design change processes Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders with strong communication and collaboration skills Real site-based construction experience Candidates from architectural or consultancy backgrounds may be considered if you show strong project management capabilities and experience.
