About the role:
Mures Fishing is seeking an experienced Deckhand/Fishinghand to join our established team on our longline vessel Diana. Diana predominantly fishes in the deep waters around Tasmania, however during the winter months can head to the high seas off the NSW coast for longer trips.

This is a full-time equivalent role with catch share remuneration, that will see you playing a critical part in the day-to-day operations of Diana, helping to ensure the successful delivery of our premier seafood products.

What you'll be doing:
Preparing and maintaining all required equipment.
Setting and hauling our demersal long lines.
Handling, sorting, and packing fish catches.
Completing general deck duties and housekeeping.
Assisting as required to ensure the safe operation and appropriate maintenance of Diana.
Adhering to all safety protocols and environmental regulations.
Working collaboratively with the Skipper and Crew to maximise productivity and ensure safety.

What we're looking for:
Proven experience as a Deckhand or Fishinghand, preferably in the commercial fishing industry
A strong understanding of safe work practices and the ability to follow instructions carefully
Physical fitness and the ability to handle heavy loads and work long hours in varying conditions
Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work well as part of a close-knit team
A commitment to sustainability and environmental best practices
