This role is pivotal to ensuring that our merchandise data is accurate, comprehensive, and effectively supports business functions such as sales, marketing, inventory management, and analytics. As the Data Product Owner, you will bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams to deliver data solutions that enhance decision-making and drive business growth. Key Responsibility Areas (KRA) Own the end-to-end lifecycle of the Merchandise Catalogue data product, aligning product goals with business objectives and customer needs. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Sales, Stores, Merchandising, IT, Data Engineering, Analytics, and Marketing to define, prioritize, and deliver catalogue data enhancements. Develop and maintain a clear product backlog, user stories, and acceptance criteria related to merchandise product data quality, enrichment, and accessibility. Ensure that merchandise data complies with internal standards and external regulations for accuracy, consistency, and completeness. Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, facilitating workshops and clarifying requirements to translate business needs into actionable data product features. Monitor and analyze product performance metrics, data quality indicators, and user feedback to drive continuous improvement. Lead efforts to integrate new data sources, improve data governance, and enhance data cataloguing tools and processes. Drive adoption of the merchandise data product across the organization through training, documentation, and stakeholder engagement. Stay informed about industry trends and best practices related to product data management and e-commerce merchandising. WHS Take proactive action to ensure that WHS practices and policies are in place to provide a safe environment for themselves and all team members, and adhere to legislative requirements, company expectations and other safety initiatives Follow safe work and operating procedures at all times Ensure the work area is kept in a neat and tidy manner, free from hazards Promptly report all OHS hazards, injuries and incidents Other: Understand and demonstrate behavior in accordance with all Company policies and procedures, including Code of Conduct, Discrimination, Bullying and EEO and all applicable laws whilst ensuring continual compliance with relevant legislation relevant to the role including WHS Other tasks as directed by Manager Role Requirements Knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, qualifications Essential Proven experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager, ideally with a focus on data products or product catalogues, preferably in retail, e-commerce, or merchandising environments Strong understanding of merchandise product data, taxonomy, attributes, and lifecycle management Experience working with cross-functional teams including data engineering, analytics, and business stakeholders Familiarity with agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence) Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills Analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex business requirements into clear data product features Knowledge of data governance, master data management (MDM), and data quality best practices GPC Asia Pacific Movement is in our DNA.
