Description: We are a growing fitness franchise looking to map potential franchise territories across Australia. We need an experienced data analyst or GIS specialist to compile, clean, and prepare Australian Census and demographic data (SA2/SA1 level) into a spreadsheet that can be imported into mapping tools like MapDiv, Maptive, or Google My Maps. Scope of Work: Data Collection & Cleaning: Download and extract relevant ABS Census data (SA2 and SA1 levels) for all Australian regions. Pull key metrics including: Population (total & by age groups) Median age Household size Median household income Median rent Population growth / projections % Indigenous population Education levels Ensure all data is current (latest available, e.g., 2021 Census or updates). Spreadsheet Preparation: Compile a master spreadsheet including: SA2/SA1 code Suburb / location name State / postcode Latitude & Longitude (geocoding addresses) All demographic metrics as above Include a Notes column for manual observations or competition data (optional). Format spreadsheet for easy import into mapping software (MapDiv / Maptive). Optional / Bonus Tasks: Add scoring columns (e.g., weighted population, income, growth) to help identify attractive territories. Provide mapping-ready visual layers or example maps (not mandatory). Requirements: Proven experience with ABS Census data and Australian geographic regions (SA2/SA1). Strong Excel / Google Sheets skills; experience with CSV/cleaning large datasets. GIS or mapping tool experience (MapDiv, Maptive, QGIS, Google My Maps, or similar). Ability to deliver a clean, structured dataset with accurate geolocation. Deliverables: A master spreadsheet covering all Australian SA2/SA1 regions with the requested metrics. All data cleaned and formatted for mapping.
