- Title: Customer Development
- Location: International
- Customer Development are sales and account management positions responsible for driving incremental sales growth within assigned accounts through relationship marketing and identification of new and creative strategic opportunities for further partnership. Customer Development will also track the progress within accounts and work with leadership to determine the appropriate growth strategy and activity for each account. In some cases, the Customer Development staff may work on a global scale.
- ACCOUNTABILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Effectively and creatively communicates Mouser’s overall value to customers.
- Increase sales from existing assigned customer accounts by locating and identifying new business opportunities and building rapport and relationship with key decision makers.
- Work with Customer Service Representatives and Management to penetrate shared Customer Development accounts more deeply.
- Interacts effectively and professionally with others and able to initiate, establish and maintain highly effective business relationships with internal and external business contacts of various cultures. Able to communicate with people at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to convert prospects and close sales while maintaining established sales goals with existing customers.
- Follow up on customer submitted requests for quotation.
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals while performing a variety of complicated tasks.
- Plans and analyzes the impact of decisions before execution.
- Expand product knowledge utilizing all available sources
- SKILLS & CERTIFICATIONS
- Desire and ability to build customer relationships with a very outgoing and mature personality
- Highly organized with very effective time management skills
- Possesses the highest level of ethics and integrity
- Detailed and thorough in work habits including detailed documentation
- Strong presentation skills, ability to effectively present information to a group of people at all levels. Presentations may be done with virtual or on-site meetings.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills - equally strong listening skills
- Demonstrated ability to convert prospects and close deals
- Able to perform basic calculations and mathematical figures
- Ability to verbalize and express themselves well in a telephone environment with a clear enunciation of local language and English
- Must be internet savvy and familiar with Internet E-Commerce. PC experience in a Microsoft Windows environment, proficient with internet e-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other software. Experience with CRM (Salesforce) software is preferred
- Ability to read and understand a terminal/PC screen and printed reports

- Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Marketing or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
- 2+ years business to business sales experience required. For internal candidates, experience can be a combination of internal and external experience.
- Customer Development Specialist
- Focus on building customer relationships from a foundational knowledge to a more strategic business strategy and growth-minded activities
- Consistently meet the CDR II level benchmark goals
- Field marketing, customer events and trade show activity may be required
- Requirements
- 4+ years business to business sales experience required. For internal candidates, experience can be a combination of internal and external experience.
- Consistently meeting or exceeding the expectations of a CDR II, demonstrated ability to meet the CDR II benchmark goals for a period of twelve months prior to advancement.
- CDR II level assessment must be 100% or above.
- Senior Customer Development Specialist
- Focus on Maintaining deep relationships with customers through ongoing business discussions while developing a company understanding of the global footprint and complete competitive footprint of a customer
- Field marketing, customer events and trade show activity may be required
- Assistance with training, coaching, mentoring peers may be required
- Team subject matter expert.
- Requirements
- 6+ years business to business sales experience required.
Internal candidates
- Experience can be a combination of internal and external experience.
- Minimum Highly Effective performance in current role.
- Consistently meeting or exceeding the expectations of a Sr Customer Development Specialist.
- Demonstrated ability to meet Sr Customer Development Specialist benchmark goals for a period of six months prior to advancement.
- Sr Customer Development Specialist level assessment must be 100% or above.
