Full time, fixed term opportunity till 13 Oct 2026 Excellent opportunity for an experienced Cultural Collections Librarian to curate and promote our unique Rare and Special/East Asian Collections Base Salary $103,185 - $111,237 + 17% superannuation About the opportunity The Cultural Collections Librarian will develop, promote, and deliver high quality rare book and special collection services to support local and global scholarship in alignment with the University’s research, teaching, development, and community engagement programs. This role provides a range of library, archival, and information services to support research and teaching; contributes to comprehensive collections management and curation of Rare and Special/East-Asian materials; and actively promotes the collections through outreach, exhibitions, and communications. Your key responsibilities will be to: contribute to the collection development, management and curation of Rare and Special/East Asian materials held in Cultural Collections provide specialist knowledge and expertise to assist clients with their complex research questions and enable individual researchers and research teams to extend their understanding of how the collections relate to their research needs participate in a range of outreach activities and services to increase the awareness and exposure of Cultural Collections resources, services, and engagement with the University community in consultation with colleagues, develop, implement, and annually review relevant workflows and processes actively contribute to University, Library and team culture and values. About you degree with subsequent relevant experience; extensive experience and specialist expertise or broad knowledge in technical or administrative fields; or equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training proficiency in one or more of the following languages; Chinese, Japanese, Korean ability to analyse and understand complex research and information needs demonstrated ability to actively contribute to the development of team goals, assist team members and to take the lead on tasks involving team members when required demonstrated experience working with rare and special or archival collections, preferably in an academic or research library context demonstrated experience in developing, delivering, and evaluating creative promotional and outreach programs.
