The Salvation Army is seeking a dynamic individual to provide national leadership and direction in Creative Ministries, supporting the growth and expression of creative arts in worship and mission across Australia. About the role This exciting role sits within our Worship Arts Team and works through the lens of our Generations & Faith Stream to support and equip frontline mission leaders. Your leadership will enhance the use of creative arts—such as dance, drama, theatre, spoken word, and more—as meaningful tools for worship, discipleship, and community engagement. You will lead and support the development of Creative Arts ministry across The Salvation Army in Australia, resourcing mission expressions to use the arts in ways that are innovative, inclusive, and contextually relevant. Your focus will be to inspire and equip local leaders, champion creativity in worship, and pioneer new approaches that reflect the richness of the arts in faith practice. This Max Term 12 months position could be based anywhere across Australia. Salary is in accordance with Hay Level 15. How you will make an impact Lead and coordinate the national development of Creative Arts ministries across diverse contexts Deliver training and practical support to local mission expressions through both in-person workshops and online platforms Facilitate a national Creative Arts Community of Practice to encourage skill development, collaboration, and ongoing innovation Pioneer new and engaging ways to use the arts for worship and mission (e.g., Jesus Theatre and other creative expressions) Develop creative ministry resources suitable for various gathered worship settings across the movement Collaborate across teams within the Mission Support Department to ensure creative ministry resources are inclusive and relevant Participate in national initiatives of the Worship Arts Team Build and maintain relationships with key external stakeholders and creative partners Domestic travel required to support mission expressions across Australia What you will bring Strong leadership and communication skills with a collaborative and relational approach Experience in creative arts, theatre, music, or related fields, with a passion for using the arts in worship and mission Demonstrated understanding of The Salvation Army’s theological and ministry framework (Desirable) Experience working with corps officers, local mission leaders, and faith communities Formal qualifications in creative arts, ministry, or related disciplines—or equivalent lived experience Strong musicianship is highly regarded A personal alignment with the mission and values of The Salvation Army What we offer The Salvos offer eligible employee's a well-balanced package of meaningful benefits including: Purchased Leave Scheme (up to 8 weeks) and 5 days paid leave per year to experience working in other TSA programs or activities.
