About
Mausam - this is to discuss in exploration video call. I want to create a membership group for a website/newsletter that is focused on two very different topics. One is a set of members interested in the natural and historic built environments in the UK - particularly its domestic and commercial period architecture in the form of country houses and hotels, as well as its natural environment in the form of areas of outstanding natural beauty, national parks, protected areas and so on. The other group is simply comprised of current Uber drivers in Australia. I know exactly of existing business or groups that have their own different focus but have existing followers/members who would make great members for me, without being in conflict with my goals or theirs. I need to try and capture some of these members who have already signed up to or bought from these other businesses so I can build my own quite different offering. I could just go to each of the businesses that I know have customers and members that would be good members for me and negotiate a deal with those businesses/groups to present my non-competing opportunity to their current customers and members. However, I think I first need a decent amount of my own members, so these other businesses recognise I do not need them to succeed. So, I need some ideas about how you can help me achieve my goal - which is to establish my own community of my own members around each topic of focus, likely drawn from the members and followers of these other known businesses. To be clear, these businesses and groups with existing followers or members are large and well known to me. They are easy to find on the web, on Facebook, on Instagram, and some are even on YouTube, LinkedIn and Twitter. Some have millions but most many hundreds of thousands of members/followers each, although there will be some overlap. I need ideas to work out a plan for how to convert/capture the interest of some of these other company's members into my own list. Greg
