Project overview: I'm looking for an editor to edit/proofread my completed manuscript — a 25,000-word non-fiction/fiction hybrid. The book is written as a story, in a poetic, lyrical style that blends parable, spirituality, psychology, and personal growth. It follows a narrative journey (fictional) with journal entries written in a second-person, wise-guide voice (non-fiction tone). What I need: - Proofreading and light copyediting only - Focus on punctuation, grammar, clarity, and consistency (Australian spelling) - Tracked changes in Word (MS Word file provided) - Completed within 2 weeks What I don’t need: - No developmental editing - No structural changes - No tone-polishing or “professionalising” Please preserve the voice — metaphors, poetic rhythm, and spiritual tone are intentional Ideal editor: * Has edited books with a similar feel (e.g. Untamed, The Midnight Library, The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse, or spiritually aware coaching/self-help books written in narrative style) * Understands nuance, sensitivity, and voice * Comfortable with soulful, metaphor-rich writing * Can work gently — flagging only when something is truly unclear or inconsistent If this sounds like your kind of project, I’d love to hear from you.
