ABOUT THE ROLE

Food Technologist

To ensure that Kilcoy Global Foods Coominya maintains its status as an approved supplier by leading all technical, food safety, and quality compliance programs specific to requirements. This role ensures the integrity of the supply chain through proactive management of the Approved Supplier List (ASL), coordination of external and internal audits, and technical liaison with relevant stakeholders

Fulltime Position
Annual Salary: $80,000-$100,000

Key responsibilities

Maintain and ensure site compliance with Approved Supplier List (ASL) requirements.
Act as the primary technical liaison
Lead and drive strategic improvements in food safety, quality, and compliance
Contribute to customer trust and brand protection through proactive engagement, transparency, and reporting.
Support commercial and operational readiness to respond to audits, inquiries, and innovation needs.

ABOUT YOU

You will have excellent analytical, problem solving, organisational and communication skills
Have the ability to function autonomously, be proactive and adapt to constantly changing business demands
Ability to communicate effectively, building rapport with a wide range of stakeholders for productive business outcomes
Ability to recognise a critical matter and escalate to appropriate stakeholders where required.
Knowledge of legislative and operational requirements of Federal, State and Local Government Acts and requirements regarding Food Safety

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Tertiary qualification in Food Science, Microbiology, Animal Science, or related discipline.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in the meat or food manufacturing industry, preferably in an export and customer-facing role.
Advanced HACCP certification and deep knowledge of GMP, food safety systems, and regulatory compliance.
Experience working with branded customer programs, particularly McDonald’s or equivalent QSR.
Auditing experience and strong understanding of supplier approval frameworks.
High proficiency in documentation, reporting systems (AMABIS, SCVW, Excel, QMS), and incident management.
