Barrio 3205 is a vibrant South Melbourne dining destination, well known for its contemporary menu and focus on fresh, high-quality ingredients. With growing customer demand, we are looking for two skilled Cooks to join our energetic kitchen team and help deliver exceptional meals every day.

Location: 184 York St, South Melbourne VIC 3205
Position: Cook – Full-Time (2 Positions Available)
Salary: $76,000 – $80,000 + Superannuation

About the Role
As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting a variety of dishes while ensuring consistent quality and compliance with food safety standards. You will work closely with our chefs and kitchen team to maintain high standards of taste and presentation.

Key Responsibilities

1. Prepare, season, and cook a variety of menu items following established recipes and quality standards.
2. Assist with menu planning and the development of daily specials.
3. Monitor and maintain stock levels, order ingredients, and reduce wastage.
4. Check the quality and freshness of ingredients prior to preparation and service.
5. Ensure all dishes are presented to the highest standards and served promptly.
6. Maintain a clean, hygienic, and organised kitchen in line with WHS and food safety regulations.
7. Train and guide junior kitchen staff and apprentices when required.
8. Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service during busy periods.

Skills & Experience
1. Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification.
2. Minimum 1–2 years’ experience as a Cook in a busy commercial kitchen.
3. Solid understanding of food hygiene and WHS requirements.
4. Ability to work efficiently under pressure and during peak service times.
5. Strong teamwork and communication skills.
6. Passion for preparing high-quality meals with attention to detail.
