About the Position:
The Cook position at I & L Enterprises Pty Ltd (St Albans Pizza) is essential for preparing, seasoning, and cooking a variety of dishes, including woodfired pizzas and pastas, in a bustling takeaway setting to uphold the business's commitment to delivering high-quality, authentic Italian-inspired meals. This role encompasses the full scope of kitchen operations, from ingredient preparation to final plating, and plays a vital part in maintaining efficient service, ensuring food safety, and contributing to the overall success of the establishment by supporting timely deliveries and customer satisfaction in a high-volume environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage food preparation tasks, including chopping, portioning, and assembling ingredients according to recipes.
Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, and woodfired appliances to cook dishes to perfection.
Season and cook food items while adhering to established recipes and quality standards.
Maintain strict sanitation and safety protocols in the kitchen to comply with health regulations.
Ensure timely service of orders, particularly during peak periods in a fast-paced takeaway operation.
Collaborate with team members to coordinate food production and handle high-volume demands efficiently.
Requirements:
Australian citizens and permanent residents are encouraged to apply.
Certificate III in Hospitality Commercial Cookery.
Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
Technical skills including proficient knife handling, knowledge of cooking techniques for pizzas and pastas, and familiarity with food safety standards; interpersonal skills such as strong teamwork, effective communication, and the ability to thrive under pressure in a busy kitchen environment.
