About the Position:
The Cook position at Cherish Brews and Bites is a full-time role focused on preparing and cooking high-quality dishes to delight customers. Working in a vibrant, community-oriented café, the successful candidate will contribute to the café’s reputation for fresh, flavorful food while maintaining a clean and efficient kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, slicing, measuring, and weighing items like meats, fish, and vegetables.
Follow established recipes and set menus to ensure consistency in meal preparation.
Operate cooking equipment to bake, grill, fry, steam, or boil food as required.
Adjust recipes to accommodate special dietary requirements when necessary.
Maintain a clean and sanitary workspace, adhering to food health and safety regulations.
Monitor food and supply levels, store ingredients properly, and order stock as needed.
Arrange and garnish dishes for appealing presentation.
Collaborate with kitchen and waitstaff for smooth operations and timely service.
Inspect food deliveries for freshness and quality.
Assist in training new kitchen staff and maintaining kitchen equipment.
Requirements:

Qualifications: Certificate III in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery)
Experience: Minimum 1 year of relevant experience as a cook
Proficiency in food preparation and cooking techniques (baking, grilling, frying, steaming, boiling)
Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation standards
Ability to follow and adapt recipes for dietary needs
Excellent teamwork and communication skills
Attention to detail in food presentation and garnishing
Time management and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
