We are seeking a skilled and passionate Cook to join our team at Salaam Namaste’s Dosa Hut, Clayton. This is a full-time role (38 hours per week), offering between $75,000 – $85,000 plus superannuation per annum.

Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will be entrusted with delivering quality dishes and ensuring smooth kitchen operations. Your responsibilities will include:
• Cooking, and presenting a wide variety of Indian dishes in line with Dosa Hut’s standards of authenticity and taste.
• Checking the quality and freshness of ingredients and ensuring food is stored safely in temperature-controlled environments.
• Operating and monitoring cooking equipment such as grills, ovens, and fryers, adjusting heat levels as required.
• Seasoning dishes and balancing flavours throughout the cooking process to maintain consistency across menu offerings.
• Accurately portioning and plating meals, applying sauces, garnishes, and accompaniments to enhance presentation.
• Preparing dishes to accommodate specific dietary requirements and customer preferences.
• Assisting with ordering and reducing wastage by managing resources efficiently.
• Ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace health standards in every aspect of food preparation.
• Collaborating with the front-of-house team to coordinate timely service during peak trading hours.
• Upholding the restaurant’s reputation for quality, authenticity, and customer satisfaction through consistent culinary output.

About You
• At least 1 year of relevant industry experience.
• An AQF Certificate III in Commercial Cookery with at least two years of on-the-job training, or an AQF Certificate IV qualification in a related field.
• Strong knowledge of Indian cuisine, flavours, and traditional cooking techniques.
