What You’ll Do

As a Cook, you will play a key role in supporting daily kitchen operations and ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation. Your duties will include:

-Preparing, seasoning, and cooking food items in accordance with recipes and menu requirements.
-Planning and organising food preparation to ensure efficient and timely service.
-Examining ingredients to ensure freshness, quality, and proper storage.
-Operate and monitor kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, fryers, and other cooking appliances at the correct temperatures and settings.
-Portioning, plating, and presenting dishes to maintain consistency and quality.
-Prepare meals to meet special dietary requirements (e.g., vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, or allergen-free).
-Cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment and work areas.
-Supervise, train, and assist junior kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications & Experience

-AQF Certificate III/IV in Commercial Cookery or an equivalent qualification.
-Minimum 1 year of experience in a fast-paced commercial kitchen.
-Strong understanding of food safety and kitchen operations.
-Excellent time management, leadership, and teamwork skills.
-Creativity and genuine passion for cooking.
