As a Cook at Fed Café, you’ll play a key role in creating and delivering high-quality, café-style meals with a focus on fresh, local produce. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment, contribute to menu development, and ensure consistent presentation and taste across all dishes.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook a variety of breakfast, brunch, and lunch menu items, with attention to quality, flavour, and presentation.
Assist in the planning and rotation of seasonal menus, incorporating local and boutique ingredients.
Monitor food preparation and cooking processes to maintain consistency and meet café standards.
Ensure proper storage, handling, and rotation of stock to maintain freshness and minimise waste.
Supervise and coordinate kitchen operations during service, maintaining a smooth workflow.
Maintain a clean and organised kitchen in line with food safety and hygiene standards.
Work closely with front-of-house staff to deliver timely and exceptional customer experiences.
Contribute creative ideas for daily specials and menu improvements that align with the café’s style.
Skills & Experience
Proven experience as a cook in a busy café or restaurant environment.
Strong knowledge of breakfast and brunch-style menus, with the ability to produce dishes quickly without compromising quality.
Understanding of food safety, hygiene, and workplace health practices.
Ability to manage time effectively and work under pressure during peak service hours.
A collaborative approach and willingness to be part of a supportive team.
