Contract Management Specialist

• Rate: $60 - $70 per hour + Super
• Contract: 3-month contract, with a strong potential for a 12-month extension

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Contract Management Specialist to join the Procurement Business Unit at a local council. This role is crucial for ensuring compliance, mitigating risk, and driving value for money outcomes across the organisation's contract activities. Key Focus Areas:

• Act as the organisation’s subject matter expert on contract management.
• Actively contribute to the establishment and management of the Council's Contract Management System (CMS).
• Monitor contract activities to ensure regulatory compliance and mitigate potential risks.
• Provide specialist advice to stakeholders, including the Procurement Manager and Coordinator.
• Develop contract management intelligence to inform strategic decision-making and continuous improvement.

Skills & Experience Required:

• Degree or diploma in procurement, law, commerce, or a related field with several years of relevant experience; or extensive experience with lesser formal qualifications.
• Demonstrated experience in contract management, preferably in a service delivery environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication, negotiation, and stakeholder influence.
• Proven ability to manage time, set priorities, and work effectively within a collaborative, dynamic team environment.
• Preferably experienced with Readytech/open windows
