About the Role

The new Royal Adelaide Hospital is the largest hospital in South Australia, providing world class health care and facilities. Working in a state of the art facility, you will be responsible for providing high quality professional diving and hyperbaric medical services. You will participate in activities that review and evaluate the care being given to patients and develop corrective strategies as required following this review. Your duties will also encompass proposing, developing and conducting research initiatives relating to diving and hyperbaric medicine, as well as providing professional phone advice for issues related to diving and hyperbaric medicine. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team with the other members of the Unit and other health professionals to provide these services. Acting as a resource and mentor, you will supervise trainees providing these services and take part in the teaching commitments of the Unit. You must also be able to participate in agreed after hours rosters.

Registered as a Medical Practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, you will have successful completion of a course in diving and hyperbaric medicine, reflecting high quality professional diving and hyperbaric medical knowledge. Your clinical experience in airway management will be evident by your proven competence in management of critically ill patients. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills both written and verbal are essential, and you will bring proven experience in clinical teaching. You will have a strong commitment to provision of high quality professional services to patients of CALHN both in and out of hours.
