Join our Corporate Communications team as a Communications and Events Specialist, driving strategies that strengthen our reputation and deliver standout events. This dynamic role blends communications expertise with event management to position us as a trusted partner and employer of choice. You’ll craft impactful communication strategies, build stakeholder trust, and lead the planning and execution of major events in collaboration with sponsors and partners.
Please note, this position is Full Time. Flexibility is important to us, and we know it is to you, too - this role supports hybrid working by agreement.??
Your part in our UnitingCare team:??
- Develop and implement communication strategies to enhance reputation and position the organisation as an employer of choice
- Plan and deliver major events, including concepts, budgets, timelines, and runsheets
- Produce and repurpose video content to reinforce brand positioning
- Drive event communications and marketing to boost participation and sponsorship
- Create multi-channel, brand-aligned content for digital platforms
- Develop thought leadership campaigns and external positioning initiatives
- Profile executives and subject matter experts through strategic content
- Manage partner and sponsor relationships to amplify joint initiatives
- Handle media relations, including enquiries, coverage monitoring, and story pitching
- Monitor media and industry trends, providing insights and recommendations

What makes a difference for us??
- Confidence to satisfy the relevant probity checks required by legislation or policies. This may include: Nationally Coordinated Police Check, Right to Work in Australia.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in developing and implementing communications strategies
- Proven ability to organise large-scale events and publicity campaigns, including stakeholder and sponsor engagement
- Strong media relations experience, including managing media enquiries
- Expertise in advising on reputational implications of policies, programs, and practices
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Exposure to: Content management systems and publishing software, Social media platforms and monitoring tools, Video editing software
