Your role at St John of God Geelong Hospital You will play a key role in supporting and developing maternity caregivers through the delivery and evaluation of education programs, including our Graduate Programs. Working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, the role also provides comprehensive midwifery care while coordinating and supervising junior staff and students, ensuring care aligns with best practice and the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia Scope of Practice. Scope of Practice. The Position Support and provide guidance to caregivers (including graduates) to meet individual learning and development goals and achieve departmental objectives In collaboration with the caregiver’s manager, support them to address learning gaps, and meet performance development goals and plans. Collaborates with Department Managers, other learning and development caregivers and relevant key stakeholders to support learning and development activities locally. Supports an interprofessional approach to the delivery, assessment and evaluation of learning for all caregivers, promoting a positive and inclusive workplace learning environment. Supports the use of standardised, best practice tools, frameworks and guidelines to deliver, assess and evaluate learning activities. In collaboration with the Learning and Development Coordinator, identifies individual, local and organisational learning needs through a learning needs analysis process. Uses adult learning principles when facilitating learning activities. Provides mentoring, coaching and support to caregivers through experiential learning and assists other members of the team to undertake the same. In collaboration with the Learning and Development Coordinator, and other key stakeholders, support the planning, onboarding, delivery and evaluation of the Pathways to Practice Graduate Programs and Pathway to Speciality Programs You will hold current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) and demonstrate a commitment to ongoing personal and professional development, as evidenced in a Continuing Professional development (CPD) record/Professional Practice Portfolio. You will bring strong communication, interpersonal and coaching skills, with the ability to engage a diverse workforce and apply adult learning principles. To succeed in this role, you will demonstrate experience in clinical education, mentoring and small group teaching, along with sound organisational, problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills. A commitment to ongoing professional development, knowledge of quality improvement and accreditation processes, and experience with Learning Management Systems and MS Office are also required. The Benefits Salary: $117,134 to $123,300 (pro rata for part time) per annum, plus 12% superannuation Permanent part time role, working up to 60 hours per fortnight.
