The team is known for precise workmanship on everything from new homes and renovations through to complex heritage and commercial fit-outs, with a strong focus on safety, reliability and clear communication with builders and clients. As the business continues to grow, we are seeking a skilled Civil Engineering Draftsperson to support our project and site teams with accurate, practical and well-coordinated drawings and documentation. Reporting to the Director/Project Manager, you will prepare detailed drawings, plans and documentation that support the design and delivery of interior linings, framing and associated building works. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working closely with site supervisors and builders to turn concepts into buildable solutions.

Key Responsibilities
• Develop detailed 2D/3D drawings, layouts and sections for internal walls, ceilings, bulkheads, suspended ceilings, feature linings, fire-rated and acoustic systems based on architectural and structural plans.
• Prepare sketches, charts, schedules, tabulations and construction details to clearly communicate set-out, framing configuration, fixings and interfaces with other trades.
• Interpret project briefs, scopes of work, engineering mark-ups and building plans, and translate them into practical drafting solutions using appropriate drafting standards, methods and software.
• Carry out site measure-ups and verification check to confirm critical dimensions, levels and existing conditions, updating drawings where required.
• Compile quantities and material take-offs from drawings to assist with estimating, tendering, variations and project cost control.
• Check that designs and drawings align with specifications, relevant Australian Standards, building codes, manufacturer requirements, contract provisions and safety requirements.
• Support site supervisors by reviewing installation progress against drawings, identifying discrepancies and proposing constructable solutions in consultation with engineers and builders.
• Assist in planning and documenting remedial or maintenance work where defects or design changes impact partitions, ceilings or other internal linings.
• Review and analyse survey data, marked-up drawings and site information to refine design details and ensure accuracy before issue to site.
• Select and document suitable systems, materials and fixing methods (e.g. framing profiles, plasterboard types, fire and acoustic systems) in line with project requirements and engineering intent.
• Maintain drawing registers, revision control and document management to ensure the latest approved drawings are available to all stakeholders.
• Liaise with architects, engineers, builders, suppliers and internal project staff to coordinate details, resolve clashes and ensure our works integrate smoothly with other structural and services elements.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of standard details, drafting templates and processes to lift quality and efficiency across projects.

Salary: $80,000–$90,000 + superannuation

Hours: Full-time, approximately 38 hours per week

Skills, Qualifications and Experience
• Minimum 3 years’ experience working as a Civil Engineering Draftsperson (or closely related drafting role) in construction, interiors or civil/structural environments.
• An AQF associate degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Engineering Drafting or a closely related discipline.

What We Offer
• Competitive salary of $80,000–$90,000 per annum + superannuation, commensurate with experience.
