Salary: $80,000 plus 12% superannuation

Our client, Safety Scaffolding Pty Ltd are Victorian scaffolding specialists with a skilled team delivering safe, compliant scaffolding solutions across residential projects. The business prides itself on qualified staff, strong partner relationships (including major builders), and a safety-first culture — supplying scaffolding for community events and large builder projects.

As Safety Scaffolding’s Draftsperson you will produce accurate, code-compliant civil and structural drawings that support safe scaffolding installation and temporary works. You’ll work closely with engineers, estimators, OH&S coordinators and site crews to turn site surveys and engineering input into practical, buildable drawings and documentation that meet Australian standards and client requirements.

Key responsibilities
• Prepare detailed ISCAFF drawings and layout plans for scaffolding, temporary works, hoarding, access and associated site works (including mark-ups and preliminary set-outs).
• Interpret engineering sketches, survey data and client briefs to produce full draft sets ready for installation.
• Contribute to design improvements and value-engineering while maintaining compliance with relevant codes and safety requirements.
• Coordinate with engineers and OH&S coordinators to ensure designs meet structural and safety standards.
• Produce material take-offs and assist estimators with quantity and cost estimates for projects.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, drawing revision control and stock/parts lists.
• Conduct periodic site visits to verify conditions, gather as-built data and liaise with installation teams to confirm constructability.
• Participate in post-project reviews and produce as-built drawings and handover documentation for customers.

Minimum requirements
• Diploma or higher in Civil Engineering Drafting / Civil Engineering / Structural Drafting (or equivalent).
• Minimum 1 year full-time relevant drafting experience; experience with scaffolding/temporary works or structural detailing is highly regarded.
• Proficient in AutoCAD (essential); experience with 3D modelling or Revit is an advantage.
• Ability to read and interpret structural/civil schematics and survey information.
• Working knowledge of Australian Standards relevant to temporary works / scaffolding and site safety procedures.

• Strong written and verbal communication — able to liaise with clients, site teams, subcontractors and engineers.
• Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy in drawings and calculations.
• Problem solver with practical, site-aware thinking and ability to prioritise multiple projects.
• Good time-management and ability to maintain drawing revision control and project filing.
