We are a leading Structural Steel Fabrication company with a proven track record in delivering complex and high-profile projects across NSW. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Structural Steel Estimator to join our dynamic team based in Beresfield NSW.

Role Overview:
You will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for structural steel projects. Your expertise will play a critical role in winning projects and supporting the delivery of high-quality fabrication services.

Key Responsibilities:
• Review project drawings, blueprints, specifications, tender documents to prepare detailed cost estimates. Ensuring compliance with relevant Building regulations and codes of Practice
• Estimate times scales
• Preparation of estimates used by management for their use in planning organising and scheduling work
• Conduct material take-offs and pricing of structural steel components, labour, and associated costs.
• Liaise with clients, engineers, and project managers to clarify project scope and requirements to formulate estimates and resolve issues that may arise
• Preparation of estimates to be utilised for selecting vendors, contractors and sub-contractors
• Source and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Consult with all stakeholders regarding contract changes, adjustments and cost estimates
• Preparation of cost & expenditure statements at regular intervals for the duration of a project
• Assist in bid submissions and tender presentations
• Identify process to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data; or to effect cost reduction, cost-saving opportunities and value engineering alternatives by assessing 'Actuals V Budget'. Then communicating this to applicable stakeholders
• Maintain and update a database of historical cost data and supplier pricing.
• Establishing professional working relationships with our General Manager, Directors and Business Development / Estimates Manager

Essential Criteria
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in estimating within the Structural Steel Industry – ‘DEMONSTRATED’
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; and / or ‘EQUIVILANT’ qualification
• Strong understanding of steel fabrication processes, erection methods, and industry standards.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting structural drawings and specifications.
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office Suite.
• Strong analytical skills
• Exemplary Oral and Written communication skills
• Demonstrated experience in working to deadlines and working under pressure.
