The Civil and Construction Plant Operator is responsible for operating plant used in construction projects. This role involves working on various civil projects, including road construction, building foundations, and infrastructure development. The operator ensures the safe and efficient operation of equipment, adhering to all safety protocols and project specifications.

Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will be:

· Operate plant using machine controls

· Selecting and fitting attachments including excavator buckets, hoses, compactors, augers, hammers, graders, trenchers, scoops and winches

· Support civil construction team with drilling, excavating, breaking and moving soil, rock and rubble

· Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on equipment.

· Follow project plans and instructions from supervisors.

· Ensure compliance with safety regulations and site-specific requirements.

· Assist in the setup and dismantling of construction equipment and sites.

· Coordinate with other team members to ensure smooth workflow.

· Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the supervisor.

· Maintain accurate records of equipment usage and maintenance.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

· Certificate III in Civil Construction Plant Operations, other relevant certification or training in heavy machinery operation.

· Valid driver's license and relevant operator licenses.

· Minimum 2 years experience.

· Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.

· Ability to read and interpret construction plans.

· Strong communication and teamwork skills.

· Physical fitness and ability to work in various weather conditions.

· Drivers Licence

· Confined Space

· Traffic Management

· Construction Induction card

· Excavator Licence

· Powercor Licence

· ESI Qualifications

· SWER

Working Conditions:

· Outdoor work environment with exposure to various weather conditions.

· Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
