About the Role
We are seeking a full-time Citrus and Livestock Farm Hand to undertake orchard and livestock duties on a mixed farming enterprise in Gunnedah, NSW.
Work includes citrus orchard operations, irrigation monitoring, harvesting, general farm maintenance, and livestock handling.
Training will be provided. There is opportunity to develop additional skills in machinery operation and irrigation management.
Type of Work & Duties
Harvesting citrus fruit
Pruning and orchard maintenance
Monitoring irrigation systems
Applying fertiliser under supervision
Livestock handling in cattle yards, including mustering
Fencing and general farm maintenance
Operating farm equipment under supervision
Manual labour including lifting, carrying, bending, and working outdoors
Work is physical and performed outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Skills, Characteristics & Aptitudes Required

Applicants must:

Be physically fit and able to perform repetitive manual tasks
Be reliable and punctual
Work well in a team environment
Follow safety procedures and instructions
Be willing to work outdoors in hot and cold conditions
Be available to work flexible hours as required
A current driver’s licence is required as there is no public transport to the property.
No prior industry experience is required. Training will be provided.
Hours of Work
Minimum average 38 hours per week
Generally Monday to Friday
May include weekends and evenings depending on operational requirements
Start time usually 8:00am – 5:00pm (may vary depending on demand)

Pay and Conditions
Employment under the Horticulture Award 2010 (MA000028)
Full-time position
Pay and entitlements in accordance with the Award and Australian workplace laws
Work is physically demanding and may involve working at heights
