Our church is undertaking a sanctuary refresh, with a new, modern stage as the focal point. We currently have architectural plans in place and are now seeking a qualified structural engineer to design a 700mm high stage that can safely support a load of 700 kPa (or at minimum 500 kPa) per m2. Key Major Elements The stage must align with our architectural layout and meet the following structural requirements: 1. LED Screen Support • Dimensions: 15,800mm (W) x 6,400mm (H) • Weight: 2.7Ton • The screen is designed as freestanding/self-supporting, but we anticipate the need for 2–4 columns positioned behind it to prevent lateral movement or instability. 2. Fore Stage Area • Designed for dynamic live loads – up to 30 people dancing or jumping simultaneously. • Includes six recessed front foldback speakers (located at stage top) and six subwoofer cavities (beneath stage). • The sub cavities must not compromise the structural integrity of this area. • Please note the attached subwoofer position and cavity file is guide for measurements and wire clearance only, as we intend to use the same sub cavity on the proposed new stage. Deliverables • Scaled floor plan and elevations (DWG or PDF) • Structural details for all members and connections • Basic material/specification sheet for contractor pricing • Editable source files (Revit, SketchUp, AutoCAD, or similar) for future updates Acceptance Criteria 1. Design must visually align with the modern aesthetic and match all elements shown in the attached architectural drawings. 2. All dimensions and clearances must accommodate stage equipment and specified features without compromising structural integrity. Timeline is flexible within reason, though I would like an initial concept draft within a weeks of kickoff.
