Contract Manufacturing & Packaging Services Pty Ltd (hereafter referred to as “CMPS”) is a rapidly growing pharmaceutical manufacturing company which has a vacancy for a highly competent and experienced Chemist.
The successful candidate will be responsible for administering a robust internal quality control system in our reputed organisation in the pharmaceutical industry.
A full-time position for a Chemist is available for an immediate start.
Specific duties and responsibilities for the position of Chemist are as follows:
• Investigating chemical compounds, researching their chemical structures and monitoring reactive properties of organic and inorganic compounds for development of new drugs or improving existing ones.
• Analysing and testing chemical ingredients for their chemical properties and efficacy.
• Responsible for planning, organising, performing, monitoring and documenting research activities.
• Refining various formulations consisting of chemicals, herbals, vitamins, minerals and monitoring changes under different conditions.
• Ensuring that pharmaceutical products meet regulatory standards and are safe for consumer use by carrying out quality control tests like disintegration techniques, stability studies, purity and consistency testing in drug production.
• Prepare solutions by weighing ingredients, dissolving and diluting chemical substances.
• Mixing and measuring chemicals, extracts, vitamins, minerals for use in trials.
• Using potentiometric methods like pH meter for physical analysis of raw materials and finished products in R&D.
• Examine, interpret and present data to senior management for supporting all product development activities.
• Maintaining legible and complete R&D records and documentation regarding all trials, tests and investigations in compliance with SOPs.
• Ensuring documentation of all formulations and blending procedures.
• Assisting in preparation of detailed reports and documentation to support the drug approval process with the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA).
• Providing technical support to other departments and adhering to SOPs and other safety regulations.
• Ensuring compliance with government OH&S and health laws as required.
The successful candidate should have a Bachelor’s of Science and Masters of Science, both in Chemistry, with at least 3 years of full-time work experience in the field of laboratory management with a reputed pharmaceutical company.
The salary for this position is $91,250.00 plus superannuation.
The candidate should be self-motivated, be able to work well under pressure, and a team-player with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Attention to detail is important in the role. We are looking for someone with a positive attitude and is a self-starter. The candidate must be hard working, organised, creative and passionate about working in a team environment. He or she will be required to work in a high-pressure environment.
