About the Role:
Able Westchem, a leading chemical manufacturer based in Bayswater, Perth, WA, is seeking a qualified and experienced Chemical Plant Operator to join our production team on a full-time basis. This role is crucial to ensuring the safe, efficient, and quality-controlled operation of our chemical mixing processes, in accordance with ISO 9001 standards.
Working hours are Monday to Friday between 6:00 am and 6:00 pm, with an average of 38 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:
• Operate and monitor chemical mixing tanks and production plant equipment
• Control batch processing operations for chemical products in accordance with established formulas and procedures
• Measure and feed raw materials, catalysts, and additives into plant systems
• Inspect and adjust equipment to ensure optimal process performance
• Monitor and record data such as temperatures, flow rates, pressures, and chemical concentrations
• Conduct routine sampling and testing for quality assurance
• Handle, store, and process chemicals, including Dangerous Goods, safely and in accordance with WHS and environmental regulations
• Identify and report equipment faults and assist with maintenance coordination
• Maintain detailed shift records, production logs, and safety documentation
• Ensure compliance with internal quality control systems (ISO 9001) and workplace safety protocols

Skills and Experience Required:
• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in chemical manufacturing or process operations
• Experience operating chemical mixing equipment and handling Dangerous Goods
• Valid Forklift Licence (LF) or willingness to obtain
• Relevant qualification in chemical processing, laboratory technology, engineering, or related field (or equivalent industry experience)
• Experience working within structured quality and safety systems
• Relevant WHS certifications (e.g. Confined Space, Working at Heights, Fire Safety) or willingness to obtain
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to follow detailed procedures and work within a safety-critical environment

Salary:
Salary range: $75,000 – $80,000 plus superannuation, commensurate with skills and experience.
