About Us
Spill the Beans is a cosy, pet-friendly café located in Linden Park, just around the corner from Burnside Village. We are open daily from 7 AM to 3 PM and proudly serve ST. ALi specialty coffee alongside a broad range of breakfast and lunch dishes designed for our local community. Our kitchen is known for consistent quality, fresh ingredients, and efficient service, making us a favourite brunch destination for locals and their pups.

The Role
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Chef to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a permanent role. The Chef will be responsible for:
- Planning menus, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering supplies, with accurate records kept for managers and the Owner.
- Monitoring the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation.
- Collaborating with Managers, Dietitians, kitchen, and waiting staff to resolve food preparation issues.
- Preparing and cooking menu items to a consistently high standard.
- Ensuring all kitchen operations comply with workplace health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
- Demonstrating advanced cooking techniques and advising staff on efficient preparation and service procedures, including preservation and maintenance practices.
- Recruiting, rostering, selecting, and training kitchen staff to meet the required standards.
- Overseeing and providing feedback on both Front of House and Back of House staff performance, with regular reports to the Owner.
- Contributing to process improvements across the venue to increase efficiency and service quality.

Skills and Experience Required
Applicants must have:
- Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent qualification) or at least three years of relevant professional experience.
- Demonstrated experience as a Chef in a busy café or hospitality environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and menu development.
- Proven ability to supervise, train, and lead staff in a fast-paced setting.
- Sound knowledge of food safety legislation and workplace hygiene standards.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail.

Salary and Conditions
$76,760 per annum plus superannuation
