Nelayan Restaurant offers authentic Indonesian cuisine located in Melbourne CBD and Hawthorn
We are currently looking for a qualified Chef to join our kitchen team on full time basis.
Ideal candidates must have a can-do attitude and will be responsible for kitchen operations and be a team player.
We are looking for someone who has :
• Strong focus on Indonesian cuisine
• At least 3 years Experience as Chef
• Kitchen management skills
• High standard of food preparation
• Attention to detail
• Must have full working right in Australia

Responsibilities including but not limited to :
• Supervise kitchen section and staffs for smooth daily operations of restaurant
• Prepare and cook Indonesian food according to menu’s recipe
• Responsible for delivering quality Indonesian foods served to customers
• Assist management in menu planning and budget
• Involve in training junior chef / cook
• Knowledgeable in food health and safety
• Provide excellent customer service when interacting with clients
• Plan menus, estimate food and labor costs, and order food supplies.
• Monitor the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation.
• Discuss food preparation issues with managers, dietitians, and kitchen/waiting staff.
• Demonstrate cooking techniques and advise on procedures.
• Prepare and cook food, particularly Indonesian dishes according to menu recipes.
• Ensure hygiene regulations are explained and enforced.
• Select and train staff as required.
• Freeze and preserve foods when necessary.
• Supervise kitchen sections and staff to ensure smooth daily restaurant operations.
• Deliver quality Indonesian food to customers.
• Assist in menu planning and budgeting.
• Train junior chefs/cooks.
• Maintain knowledge of food health and safety standards.
• Provide excellent customer service when interacting with clients.

We offer annual salary of $ 76,000 - $79,000 plus superannuation.
