Our client, Dibacio (Wandin Pizza Bar), is a beloved, family-run establishment nestled in the scenic Wandin North, Victoria. Known for their handcrafted pizzas and welcoming atmosphere, they take pride in delivering high-quality Italian cuisine with a personal touch.
They are seeking a passionate Chef to join their kitchen team. The successful candidate will manage daily operations, uphold exceptional food quality, and contribute to menu development in a warm, community-focused setting.
The annual salary for this position is $76,600 to $85,000.
Responsibilities include:
• Develop and plan seasonal and specialty menus, with a focus on authentic Italian pizza and sides, while accurately forecasting food and labour costs.
• Monitor food quality consistently throughout preparation and plating to ensure it meets high standards.
• Collaborate with front-of-house staff and management to ensure seamless communication and resolve any service or kitchen issues.
• Demonstrate pizza-making and kitchen techniques to team members, including dough handling and oven operation.
• Prepare and cook a variety of menu items, including pizzas, starters, and desserts, ensuring freshness and taste consistency.
• Maintain and enforce food safety and hygiene practices, in accordance with Australian health and safety standards.
• May participate in the recruitment and training of new kitchen staff, mentoring them on kitchen workflows and quality expectations.
• Manage stock levels and oversee food storage, ensuring proper rotation and preservation of ingredients.
• Adapt recipes and techniques for dietary requirements and customer preferences, including vegetarian and gluten-free options.
• Support kitchen operations during busy periods, ensuring timely service and teamwork under pressure.
• Conduct regular equipment and kitchen checks, addressing maintenance issues to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
• Contribute to a positive team culture, fostering communication, accountability, and pride in delivering high-quality food.
Qualifications:
• Must have at least one (1) year of experience.
• Must hold a certification or qualification in Cookery and/or Hospitality.
